Texas Trinity River--Alligator Gar

Friend Don Thompson of Swayzee, Indiana had a few days of great fishing. Don first fished for redfish out of Venice, La with Captain Keith Kennedy of Born To Fish Charters, www.rodnreel.com/borntofish/. Don had fantatic action for bull reds. His largest redfish was a giant 38lbs.

After leaving Venice, LA Don headed to Texas to fish the Trinity River with guide Kirk Kirkland

www.texasfishingguides.org/kirkland. Don and his grandson had good action with the largest alligator gar being 70 inches at 75lbs and another at 65lbs. Guide Kirk books well in advance so you best bet is to call at least a year ahead of time to get the best fishing dates.
