GOLDEN DORADO LURES BY KERMITT ADAMS

Kermitt Adams of www.klures.com has been hard at work designing some top of the line lures for the monster golden dorado of La Zona. His latest work is a 5 1/2 wooden lure with a stainless steel lip which can be tuned for wake-splashing topwater action or fast diving retrieves. The lure has a wire through construction with a belly rotating swiveled hook. Also, Kermitt has added a bucktail to the rear hook to further attract the dorado.

Other top dorado lures Kermitt has designed are metal lip Shad Rap type lures which should work well on the monster dorado.

Check out Kermitt's site at www.klures.com Hopefully I am successful on my upcoming trip to La Zona using Kermitt's lures which then hopefully will be available to all.

PEACOCK BASS REPORT FOR FEB 25 TO MAR 5

Friend Bryon Christie lead a group of 9 in the jungles of Brazil in search of monster peacock bass during February 25th to March 5th. Bryon's group fished with the Capt Peacock houseboats which you might recall caught the world record peacock bass a few weeks ago.

Bryon reported good fishing as his group landed roughly 525 peacocks with each angler catching at least 1 trophy peacock over 18lbs. A few in the group were extremely lucky and caught monster peacocks of 20lbs.

They fished a few rivers around Barcelos including the Rio Cuini which is known for giant peacocks.

The majority of the monsters were caught on chopper type lures which are topwater lures with a back propeller which you rip very fast on your retrieve. The explosion provided by the peacock is something to behold.

Bryon said his stay with Capt Peacock was very enjoyable. The food, staff, and guides were outstanding.

La Zona, Uruguay River report for March 1-3

In three days of fishing at La Zona, outfitter Steve Yatomi reports his clients had fantastic fishing for golden dorado during March 1-3. Steve reports the guys caught numerous trophy dorado over 25lbs including a giant 45lbs dorado.

La Zona is a section on the Uruguay River which produces the largest dorado on earth. Nearly every World Record has been shattered by anglers fishing in La Zona. La Zona has become known as "THE HOME OF THE MONSTER".

The dorado is without question one of the most exciting freshwater fish on earth. As a voracious predator, its strikes are arm breaking as evidenced by the numerous broken rods given to disappointed anglers. The sight of a 40lbs plus dorado leaping wildly, flashing it's brilliant golden coloration is a sight to behold.

Fishing is limited to 2 boats or 4 fishermen in the "zone". Also fishing is only on Monday to Thursday and certain times during these days.

TO EXPERIENCE THIS FISHING TRIP OF A LIFETIME, CONTACT STEVE YATOMI OF
WWW.ADVENTURETRAVELALLIANCE.COM or call Steve at 1-800-254-3474

I have fished most of the top fishing destinations in the world and La Zona is by far my favorite fishing destination. I am heading back for the 4th trip this coming April.

For this trip, Kermitt Adams of www.klures.com phone 559-903-4453 has constructed some fantastic dorado lures for me to field test. I have no doubt his lures will land numerous monster dorado.

All serious International fishermen need to seriously look into this "FISHING TRIP OF A LIFETIME" I guarantee it!!

LAKE GURI, VENEZUELA

Lake Guri which is located within Venezuela's dense Guayana Highlands is experiencing a major drought. The lake is dropping roughly 8 inches per day. On Guri, lies the world's largest hydroelectric dam, the Raul Leoni Dam. Beyond it lies the 7th largest man made lake in the world.

Guri normally has depths reaching 600 feet! Here was one of the starting points in the late 80's, early 90's for the peacock bass explosion!

Guri stretches over 80 miles long and 22 miles wide, and has thousands of islands, points, and timbered coves which have created an exploding fishery.

The Leoni Dam provides the majority of power for Venezuela. President Chavez has enforced limits on the use of electricity for the citizens of Venezuela due to the low amount of power being produced due to the lack of water.
