Kermitt Adams, http://www.klures.com/, has come up with a golden dorado ripper chico lure. The Chico is smaller then the grande ripper. The Chico has a body of 6 inches in length and weighs 1.5 ounces. The Hooks are 4x Owner. I tested the Chico versus the Argentina favorite TNT. The Chico is constructed out of high quality material. The Chico prop allows it to spray out lots of water and much noise whereas the TNT only puts out a small wake when rapidly retieved.
I also tossed the new golden dorado dbuzz jr which is a winner! This smaller version of the dbuzz lure has a single rotating buzz prop which puts out a big wake when rapidly retrieved. The lure planes immediatly up retrieve.
To land monster dorado cast the golden dorado ripper Chico and dorado dbuzz jr next to the visible rocks in places like La Zona and reel in as rapidly as possible. Monster dorados will definately be caught on these lures. For more information contact Kermett at
(559) 903-4453 or check out the dorado section on his http://www.klures.com/ site.

Kermett Adams of www.klures.com has now designed a dbuzz jr. after much discussion with me. The dbuzz jr. is a smaller model of the dbuzz lure. The jr. model has a body of 3 inches and a total length of 5.5 inches. The buzz blade is a single as compared to a double on the dbuzz. The jr. model weighs 1.5 oz and comes with 1/0 Owner hooks and super strong Wolverine split rings. It also has wire through construction which enables it to handle up to known battlers such as the La Zona dorado. Per recommendations and field testing the jr. model should be available soon. Check out the super dorado lures such as the dalydiver and great peacock bass lures like the peacock ripper which are hand made by Kermett at www.klures.com

A potential world record brown trout was caught yesterday, July 16, by Roger Hellen. Hellen was fishing in the Salmon-A-Rama out of Racine Wisconsin on Lake Michigan. The monster brown trout weighed in at 41 pounds 8 ounces. The brown was weighed on certified scales at a local meat market and witnessed by at least 3 others.
Currently, the world record brown trout is 41 pounds 7 ounces which is recognized by the IGFA. The record was caught by Tom Healy on Sept. 9, 2009, from the Manistee River in Michigan.
With the halibut derbies in Homer and Valdez, Alaska kicking off, a few monsters from the deep have been caught.
Currently, the derby leader in Homer is a halibut weighing in at 273.2lbs while in Valdez, the leading halibut is at 200.7lbs
Last year Homer paid out $40,400 to the winner who landed a 354.6lbs halibut while in Valdez the winner brought home $15,000 with a halibut weighing in at 312.9lbs
For those who have never fished for halibut they are mostly bottom feeders with flat bodies. When they begin to mature, the eyes rolling to both sides of the body. One side of the body is white while the other is dark to prevent baitfish from spotting them. Halibut is widely considered one of the best eating fish worldwide. Halibut have been know to grow to monster sizes greatly exceeding 400lbs.
If your plans call for a trip to Alaska this year, make sure to take a day charter for halibut and buy a derby ticket. Who knows, you might win and make thousands$$

The lure body is 4 inches long with an approx 3.5 inch diameter. It has duel counter rotating blades which puts out a big wake when reeled in. The blades are 2inches. There is a body hook 2/0 Owner and back hook 2/0 Owner both with quality Wolverine split rings. It has a rotating swivel for the body hook. From the front wire tie up to back hook it is 7 inches long. Kermett is going to make a slightly smaller Jr. dbuzz which will also be great.Cast these lures around the rocks at La Zona for monster dorado! River2Sea has long been a winning tackle manufacturer supplying fishermen from Australia to the US with great lures. I have been looking for a high end minnow lure to fish for Tanzania tigerfish this coming October. River2Sea's Sea Minnow 120F looks like a winner. The lure is made of high quality plastic with large hook rings plus a fantastic finish. Currently, http://www.landbigfish.com/ has a sale on some discontinued colors for only $4.49. These lures remind me of the other top quality minnow lures made by Owner and Yo-Zuri. Pick up a few of these before http://www.landbigfish.com/ runs out. These lures will definately land monster peacock bass also!

Lake Guri, Venezuela, has long been recognized as one of the top places to catch monster peacock bass and payara on the same trip!! Matter of speaking, outside the Amazon, Lake Guri is one of the few waters which houses a fishable population of Cichla temenis-the largest of the peacock bass species!
Guri was formed in 1986 with the construction of the hydroelectic dam on Venezuela's Caroni River.
This was one of the original hotspots for Anglers world wide to catch trophy peacocks.
Friend, Steve Townson, recently had tremendous fishing with numerous trophy peacocks and payara landed. The top lure were the new 3/4oz to 1oz SOB spinnerbaits
For more information on the great trip, contact Steve Shoulders of the Headwaters Fishing Camp at email@example.com and make sure to check out his website at
