MICHIGAN GREAT LAKES STRAIN RECORD MUSKIE
On September 27, angler Kyle Anderson fishing Torch Lake near Traverse City Michigan caught a record Great Lakes Strain Muskie. The muskie was caught on a home made lure. The record weighed in at 50lbs 8oz and measured 55 inches. It was previously tagged in May by the DNR/University of Michigan. When tagged the muskie measured the same at 55 inches but weighed 5lbs heavier. Attempts to revive the muskie were unsuccessful. Pending approval by the IGFA, the muskie should have the 50lbs line class record.
