Klures Golden Dorado Ripper Chico

Kermitt Adams, http://www.klures.com/, has come up with a golden dorado ripper chico lure. The Chico is smaller then the grande ripper. The Chico has a body of 6 inches in length and weighs 1.5 ounces. The Hooks are 4x Owner. I tested the Chico versus the Argentina favorite TNT. The Chico is constructed out of high quality material. The Chico prop allows it to spray out lots of water and much noise whereas the TNT only puts out a small wake when rapidly retieved.

I also tossed the new golden dorado dbuzz jr which is a winner! This smaller version of the dbuzz lure has a single rotating buzz prop which puts out a big wake when rapidly retrieved. The lure planes immediatly up retrieve.

To land monster dorado cast the golden dorado ripper Chico and dorado dbuzz jr next to the visible rocks in places like La Zona and reel in as rapidly as possible. Monster dorados will definately be caught on these lures. For more information contact Kermett at

Klures dbuzz jr.

Kermett Adams of www.klures.com has now designed a dbuzz jr. after much discussion with me. The dbuzz jr. is a smaller model of the dbuzz lure. The jr. model has a body of 3 inches and a total length of 5.5 inches. The buzz blade is a single as compared to a double on the dbuzz. The jr. model weighs 1.5 oz and comes with 1/0 Owner hooks and super strong Wolverine split rings. It also has wire through construction which enables it to handle up to known battlers such as the La Zona dorado. Per recommendations and field testing the jr. model should be available soon. Check out the super dorado lures such as the dalydiver and great peacock bass lures like the peacock ripper which are hand made by Kermett at www.klures.com

ALASKA HALIBUT LEADERS

With the halibut derbies in Homer and Valdez, Alaska kicking off, a few monsters from the deep have been caught.

Currently, the derby leader in Homer is a halibut weighing in at 273.2lbs while in Valdez, the leading halibut is at 200.7lbs

Last year Homer paid out $40,400 to the winner who landed a 354.6lbs halibut while in Valdez the winner brought home $15,000 with a halibut weighing in at 312.9lbs

For those who have never fished for halibut they are mostly bottom feeders with flat bodies. When they begin to mature, the eyes rolling to both sides of the body. One side of the body is white while the other is dark to prevent baitfish from spotting them. Halibut is widely considered one of the best eating fish worldwide. Halibut have been know to grow to monster sizes greatly exceeding 400lbs.

If your plans call for a trip to Alaska this year, make sure to take a day charter for halibut and buy a derby ticket. Who knows, you might win and make thousands$$
