MONSTER TARPON ACTION ON THE RIO PARISMINA

Argentina friend, Enzo Rico, had a fantastic fishing trip for monster tarpon at Rio Parismina Lodge. The Rio Parismina Lodge is located on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. The lodge is in a jungle setting located on the banks of the Parismina River. Quality service, great meals, and top notch guides and boats have made Parismina perhaps with finest tarpon lodge in Costa Rica. Here fishing is world class for monster tarpon and huge snook plus numerous other species.
Enzo, perhaps the finest golden dorado guide on this planet, says nothing can compare to the jumping ability of the silver king! He caught numerous monster tarpon during his stay.
Fishing schedules are very flexible and can be a few days up weeks depending on your preference.

RED HOT REDFISH ACTION IN VENICE, LA

Friend John Cross and his wife Kelly Fitzgerald recently experienced fantastic monster bull redfish action with Capt. Keith Kennedy of Born to Fish Charters.

On the 1st day and 2nd day, over 50 bull reds were landed. ON the last day and the last cast, Kelly hooked into the biggest bull red of the trip tipping the scales at over 40lbs. Not bad to say the least for a first time redfish trip!

Capt Keith has been producing monster redfish all season long. There are a few remaining prime dates open for this season and act now to get the best dates for 2012.

Contact Keith at (504) 908-3108 to get into this fantastic fishing!

JIG TROLLING

A new, highly effective, technique has been developed by a few successful peacock bass fishermen. These guys have been trolling jigs with high catch rates.

Unlike traditional jigs, these trolling jigs have extended teaser trailers to add size and action. They are more or less a long fly tied on a strong light weighted hook and trolled in many lagoons 50 to 100 feet behind the boat.

This technique also offers the fishermen to still fish and get a rest from the exhausting ripping action while casting chopper type lures in extreme heat!

I tend to believe these trolling jigs would be highly successful on catching salmon in the Great Lakes or even perhaps walleye and bass. Give them a try on your next trip.

Kermeet hand crafts each lure to your specifications.
Believe me as I have landed numerous tigerfish and golden dorado with his top of the line lures in the business. When you are investing thousand of dollars on these trips do not go cheap on the lures, give Kermett a shout!

ALASKA PENINSULA SILVER SALMON

Silver Salmon will start making their way back into the freshwater rivers on the Alaska Peninsula after spending 4 to 5 years of their life in saltwater.

The Alaska Peninsula is a strip of land which extends Southwest from Mainland Alaska. It spreads for 500 miles between the Pacific Ocean and Bristol Bay, an arm off the Bering Sea.

The volcanic Aleutian range runs the entire length of the Peninsula.

The Peninsula offers perhaps the best silver salmon fishing found on earth! Virtually these rivers are unfished except for the large population of local brown bears.

Having fished the Peninsual for over 20 years, I have found Gary LaRose's Pumice Creek Lodge to offer the best salmon fishing for both size and numbers.

LaRose offers daily flightouts to the Cinder River where silver salmon are in abundance. Here you need no downriggers or heavy sinkers to get to the silvers. These are dime bright fresh from the ocean silvers who can be caught using spinning and fly fishing equipment.

I spin fish for these silvers and have had many 100+ catch days using pixee spoons and Blue Fox Vibrax spinners as my main tackle.

Most fishing is done casting the rivers while wading. The rivers are mostly small and very safe to fish. LaRose has 2 full time guides working for him to put you onto the salmon.

Check out Gary's website at http://www.garylarose.com/ for the silver salmon adventure of your lifetime!

RECORD MUSKY CAUGHT IN MINNESOTA??

According to Field and Stream Magazine, John Gergen caught the musky of his dreams on July 1st, 2011 out of Lake Sallie, Minnesota. The monster was caught on a Musky Innovations Bull Dawg in Black Blow coloration. The trophy measured in at 57.5 inches which topped the previously held Minnesota record by a inch or two.

However, Gergen was not able to actually get his record verified as the Minnesota government was shut down, therefore, not enabling the DNR to verify his catch. Talk about bad luck!!!!

Gergen unofficially weighed the musky in at 56.6lbs which would have been the State Record!

NEW POWERPRO SLICK BRAIDED FISHING LINE

One of my favorite brands of fishing lines, PowerPro, has introduced a new SuperSlick braided fishing line at the fishing tackle ICAST show.
The SuperSlick braid is constructed of eight yarn Honeywell Spectra fiber and braided under high tension to give the super slick texture. The process allows for much long casts from reduced line friction.
The braid comes in strengths up to 80lbs.
I have used PowerPro for super strong species such as Tigerfish, Golden Dorado, Peacock Bass and many more tough fighters. I highly recommend you spool up with PowerPro on your next trip and check out the new "Slick" Braid.
