With my upcoming trip to Tanzania for tigerfish only a few days away, 1 of the fishermen in my group suffered a serious injury this past week and will miss the fishing trip. My friend was riding his bicycle and as hit by a car. He suffered a broken arm and dislocated shoulder. He will out of work for at least a month. The driver of the car did not have insurance. My friend did not purchase travel trip insurance for our Tanzania trip. Since the trip is too close to departure, a refund is not available. Thousands of dollars are lost.
REMEMBER TO SPEND A FEW HUNDRED OF DOLLARS TO PURCHASE TRAVEL TRIP INSURANCE.
Bob, Great post. An unfortunate situation for your friend but one that plays out from time to time in the lives of international traveling anglers. Stuff just happens and when there is no Travelers Insurance (Trip Interuption)thousands of dollars are usually lost which only adds to the frustration of the missed dream trip. As an international outfitter, I try very hard to encourage all clients to purchase this type of coverage, I'm sure to the point sometimes that they are frustrated with my incessant reminders. I feel for your fishing partner and friend. Have a great and safe trip to Tanzania Tigerland!
