PEACOCK BASS REPORT FOR FEB 25 TO MAR 5
Friend Bryon Christie lead a group of 9 in the jungles of Brazil in search of monster peacock bass during February 25th to March 5th. Bryon's group fished with the Capt Peacock houseboats which you might recall caught the world record peacock bass a few weeks ago.
Bryon reported good fishing as his group landed roughly 525 peacocks with each angler catching at least 1 trophy peacock over 18lbs. A few in the group were extremely lucky and caught monster peacocks of 20lbs.
They fished a few rivers around Barcelos including the Rio Cuini which is known for giant peacocks.
The majority of the monsters were caught on chopper type lures which are topwater lures with a back propeller which you rip very fast on your retrieve. The explosion provided by the peacock is something to behold.
Bryon said his stay with Capt Peacock was very enjoyable. The food, staff, and guides were outstanding.
